Having served at Entellium two years ago as their Dir. of Sales, I am saddened by the manipulation and abuse of trust that PJ and Parish (I suspect one or two others as well) leveraged over a very smart and dedicated group of individuals. I can tell you that the executive team at the time of my departure never passed the smell-test, which is why I chose to leave. PJ's vision was sound and the product fantastic...truly! They had a very dedicated team and it’s sad that they are on the street during these tough economic times and so near the holidays...this isn't a game, it affects real people. I wish everyone well and hope to see you picked up by good companies as you deserve. I hope this doesn’t sully Ignition’s reputation too much as they are fine folks as well who were duped.

This is why building a business on venture money is crazy. In modern web2 style companies there's almost no need for it. In most cases you can self fund (as we did) or if that's not possible get basic financing from friends, family or perhaps Angels.

We created a help desk software application (similar to CRM) with just our own minimal startup capital. By keeping costs low we've done very well and don't have to answer to anyone.
